Binnies UK Chester Office staff are getting together to walk three peaks in three days (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa) in September 2023, to support our colleague Angie, who is currently fighting bowel cancer.

In July 2022 Angie's world was turned upside down when she had a scan for a suspected gallstone resulting in finding an 8cm tumour in her colon and spread to lymph nodes and peritoneum. Angie has had 8 months of chemotherapy which has shrunk the tumour, and is now on immunotherapy and targeted therapy, hoping to be eligible for surgery at some point. Not all colon cancers are the same- a BRAF gene mutation which she has is the least common at less than 10% of cases.

Unfortunately for the Bowel Cancer subset of BRAF patients there are fewer treatment options. We are campaigning with Bowel Cancer UK for #breakingBRAF to raise awareness and funds for BRAF research. Angie is very grateful to family, friends and colleagues who have been amazing through the last year and is so thankful for all the support and prayers to beat the odds!
