The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world.

Here in Birkenhead Christmas is our busiest time of the year as we support our community.

Each year we support 200+ families bringing joy to 400+ children who might wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.

Every child in each family receives a toy package consisting of a medium/large present and a small present, a family game and a Christmas story book. They also get a treat bag of classic Christmas chocolates and vouchers for Christmas food. We work closely with schools and social workers for referrals.

We also support a local hostel for young people in which they receive a Christmas gift bag of everyday essentials and Christmas goodies.

Also, we do Christmas Day dinner for those who might find themselves alone on Christmas Day to spread the joy and Good News.
