Story
In January 2024, Paul Craig entered Birmingham Hospice Erdington and the final chapter of his life.
He spent his last two weeks under the care of the wonderful staff at the hospice. They made his final days as comfortable and calm as possible, ensuring he left with dignity and at peace.
Despite the vital nature of their work, and the exemplary way in which they carry out their mission, Birmingham Hospice is only 60% NHS funded, with the balance of their budget coming from private donations. Sadly, almost every hospice in the UK is budgeting for a deficit in 2024/25.
While it won't be enough, funds raised will go some way to filling that funding gap, helping to ensure that other people's loved ones receive the same compassionate care which Paul received in abundance from the staff at Birmingham Hospice, much to the appreciation of his family, friends and dog, Alfie.
Special thanks to Ben, Dom, Faye, Harrison, James, Mark, Neil and Rich for running with us!
