Every Step for a Memory – A Story Behind the Walk

At Bishops Cleeve Care Home, every resident carries a lifetime of stories wedding days, war years, childhood adventures, and quiet moments of joy. But for many, those precious memories are slipping away, piece by piece, through the relentless progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

We see it every day. A name forgotten. A familiar face now a stranger. It's heartbreaking but it’s also a call to action.

That’s why our staff are taking part in a sponsored walk: to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity that works tirelessly to support those living with dementia and fund the research that could one day end it for good.

For us, this walk isn’t just about raising funds—it’s about walking in honour of those who can’t. It’s about showing our residents, and their loved ones, that they are not alone. Every step we take is a promise: that we remember, that we care, and that we believe in a future where memories last a lifetime.
