At Blachford UK, we are proud to be supporting Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and the incredible work they do for children and families facing the most difficult circumstances imaginable.

Bluebell Wood provides care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, supporting hundreds of families both within the hospice and in family homes. Their support is tailored to each individual family and includes services such as overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much more.

The compassion, reassurance and support they provide to families during some of the most difficult times is truly remarkable, which is why, as a business, we wanted to support such an important charity and help raise awareness of the work they do.

As part of our fundraising efforts, Wayne Nortjé, Operations Director at Blachford UK LTD, will be taking on a 24-hour batting endurance challenge against a bowling machine at S20 The Boundary, starting at 2pm on Friday 25th September 2026 and finishing at 2pm on Saturday 26th September 2026.

Alongside the challenge, we will also be hosting a family fun event with food, face painting, raffles and more throughout the event, with all funds raised going towards supporting the amazing work carried out by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

It costs around £6.5 million each year to keep Bluebell Wood’s doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond, with only around 16% funded through statutory funding. The rest relies on donations and fundraising support from businesses, communities and individuals.
