Black Heritage Southampton Community Association promote the welfare and wellbeing of the local African Caribbean community in Southampton. They are a vital source of companionship and activity for older members of this community in particular who are at increased risk of social isolation. By providing a space for members to meet, talk, share food, stories and experiences, play dominoes and take part in other organised activities, they contribute to both the immediate wellbeing of members as well as the legacy of the African Caribbean community's contribution to the local area more generally. It is an inclusive organisation that welcomes all from the wider community who have an interest in sharing and preserving African Caribbean culture and traditions. Black Heritage is a charitable organisation that is run for its members by its members and funded by modest annual membership fees and donations.
