Story
We're proud to support Dorset County Hospital Charity and its Emergency & Critical Care Appeal in 2026 and 2027.
Dorset County Hospital provides essential hospital services to around 300,000 people across Weymouth and Portland, West and North Dorset, as well as Purbeck. Demand for its Emergency Department has grown significantly to a now pressing capacity of treating over 52,000 attendances in 2024/2025, whereas it was originally built for 22,000 patients a year.
To meet this growing need, a new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit is due to open in 2027 as part of a £100 million investment in hospital facilities in West and North Dorset for 25 years. Dorset County Hospital Charity's 2.5 million Emergency & Critical Care Appeal will help fund enhanced facilities and equipment, including paediatric bed space and associated equipment, improved relatives' room, dedicated child and adolescent mental health facilities, staff rest areas and a therapeutic Winter Garden.
We will arrange a range of fundraising activities in 2026 and 2027, inviting our staff, clients and the local community in Blandford, Dorchester, Shaftesbury, Weymouth and beyond to support this important appeal.
We invite you to join us in supporting this essential cause.
