As a part of Homecoming nominations we have to set up a charity. I think there’s no better cause than the SPCA. (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Rescuing dogs has always been important to my family. That’s how we ended up with Harold and Frank, our two bulldog mixes, who both came from difficult situations. Harold was found roaming the streets of Allentown, fully emaciated. Through the help of Peaceable Kingdom, he was rehabilitated and eventually found his forever home with us. Our deaf dog Frank was found in a ditch in Tennessee, starving and dehydrated. He was rescued from a kill shelter and brought here. To this day, we have to monitor how much water he drinks because he developed a fear of not having access to it. Both dogs went through things no animal should have to experience, but thanks to the people who stepped in to help, they were given another chance. The SPCA works to help animals in situations like these by providing rescue, care, and protection. Donations help support that work and give more animals the opportunity to find safe, loving homes.
