Mission Statement : Enabling communities by educating children and empowering women. Our Aim : Blossom Trust is a UK registered charity (no. 1145318) created in 2012. The trust started with an aim to help disadvantaged children, and has since expanded their projects into Education, Mental Health, Empowering Women, Children Care, Agricultural Support and Covid Support to achieve this objective. The Trust’s main objective is to support underprivileged undergraduate students to continue and complete their education, as many students abandon their education due to their lack of funds for their upkeep. We at Blossom Trust strongly believe that female empowerment is the seed from which one can develop a nurturing, thriving community for the future generation. Most of the disadvantaged families are headed by widowed women who are currently living in extreme poverty and malnutrition. The Trust reviews each beneficiary’s requirement with their physical and mental abilities and provides carefully monitored, tailor made, support to improve their quality of life by allowing them to gain regular income and reduce their dependency on others. By strengthening and sustaining their own household income, they will have an increased opportunity to lead a more independent family life. How we differ from others : The running cost of our charity is borne by the trustees and, which helps us to ensure all the funds collected are used towards our projects.

Hi Friends and Family,

On Sunday, 6th September 2026, we (Ravi, Branavan, Lakshman, Sharaniya, Piralash, Rosh, Sanjay, Summi, Staefen and Vinoth) will be taking part in a 5km Charity Run at Richmond Park in support of Blossom Trust (UK Registered Charity No. 1145318).

We would be incredibly grateful if you could support our run by taking a few moments to donate to this worthwhile cause. Every contribution counts, and no matter how big or small 100% of your donation goes directly to Blossom Trust. If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to add Gift Aid, which increases your donation by 25% at no extra cost to you.

About Blossom Trust

Since 2012, Blossom Trust has been transforming lives through education, healthcare, and community support in Sri Lanka. This year’s Charity Run will fund two of our key initiatives:

Graduate Financial Support Scheme (Launched 2014):

• Providing essential financial assistance to underprivileged undergraduates across 19 Sri Lankan universities (including Jaffna, Eastern, Peradeniya, and Moratuwa).

• Impact To Date: 237 undergraduates have received vital financial support across diverse disciplines, including Medicine, Engineering, Law, and the Arts. This year we plan to support many more achieve their academic goals

Unicom TIC – IT Training for Employment (Launched 2024):

• This intensive Diploma in Software Programming equips young people in Sri Lanka with job-ready IT skills through an aptitude-based selection process. Blossom Trust proudly funds full boarding and lodging for participants to ensure equal opportunity.

• Impact to Date: in its first 2 years Unicom TIC has trained almost 200 students with 70% securing immediate employment, and the remaining pursuing further education. This year we will be supporting 101 students who are currently enrolled and in need of financial aid
