Story
Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect those diagnosed—it changes life for everyone around them.
I’ve been lucky enough to witness some of the incredible work and research being done to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s (shoutout to my better half!), and it’s clearer than ever how vital it is to keep that momentum going. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference.
So, how am I getting involved? By suffering on a bike—for a great cause.
I’ve signed up for the 75-mile Bike Chester Sportive, which winds into Wales and up the infamous Horseshoe Pass. Sounds impressive, right? Well, here’s the kicker: I only started road cycling in May 2025, and the longest ride I’ve managed so far is 25 miles...on flat roads.
But I’m not stopping there. If we hit the £500 fundraising goal, I’ll up the challenge and ride the 100-mile Sportive in September as a bonus.
To make sure I stand out (and probably regret everything), I’ll be dyeing my beard Parkinson’s blue, wrapping my handlebars in bright blue tape, and decking myself out in as much blue as possible.
Help me turn every mile of leg pain into progress for Parkinson’s. Let’s make a difference together—one mile at a time.
