Story
So; despite edging closer to 40, being extremely unfit, having knees that struggle with a flight of stairs and never having ran further than a 5k... I have decided to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon 2027.
I'm doing this in part to prove to myself that I can, whilst getting myself in better shape and feeling healthier.
However I am also doing it in the hope of raising some money for The Thin Blue Line UK charity.
The Thin Blue Line supports serving and retired police officers, staff, and their families across the United Kingdom, particularly those affected by trauma, injury, mental health struggles, financial hardship, or the loss of a loved one.
The charity works to provide practical assistance, emotional support, wellbeing initiatives, and recognition for the sacrifices made by members of the police service.
Fundraising is vital because charities like this rely heavily on public donations to continue delivering support to those who spend their lives protecting others.
Every fundraiser helps ensure that officers and their families can access help when they need it most, while also raising awareness of the pressures and challenges faced within policing communities.
