Story

The Current Crisis

Mustard Seed Project (Kenya) has been a beacon of hope for 300 children in urban Mombasa, offering not only quality education but also crucial meals. However, challenges like a prolonged three-year drought in Kenya, global disruptions such as the war in Ukraine, the lingering impacts of Covid, and skyrocketing food inflation have threatened the continuation of their daily feeding programme.

Why Their Feeding Programme Matters

For most of these children, the balanced meal provided by Mustard Seed is the only food they'll receive all day. Think of 300 young souls, filled with dreams and potential, depending solely on this single meal. Without the project's support, many of these children would face starvation, and all would suffer from malnutrition.

Mustard Seed Project Approach to Education

Mustard Seed Project has gone beyond conventional norms to ensure quality education. They've built specialized classrooms for just 30 students each, a significant improvement from government schools that accommodate over 100 children per class. This dedication to smaller class sizes results in exceptional academic outcomes. Their passionate teachers, in combination with their well-equipped facilities, create an environment where every student thrives.

What Your Contribution Achieves

Facing increasing economic challenges, the Mustard Seed's annual budget for the feeding programme stands at £30,000. Breaking it down, they require a little over £2,500 each month to ensure these children are fed. Your support, no matter its size, can make a monumental difference:

- £8.33 can feed a child for a month. That's roughly the cost of 2-3 cups of coffee in the UK!

- £250 can feed an entire class of 30 students for a month.

- £2,500 ensures no child at Mustard Seed goes without food for an entire month.
