We are deeply saddened to share the news of Robert Durham (Bob) passing away at home on 10 March 2026 at the age of 69. He bravely fought a brief but courageous battle against melanoma cancer.

Bob was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandad and Brother, whose laughter kindness and love touched everyone he knew.

In honour of Bob’s memory we are collecting online donations for the County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust Charity (CDDFT Charity).

The community and district nurses in Newton aycliffe were truly amazing providing round-the-clock care helping Bob pass with dignity and peace. 

CDDFT Charity is the official charity for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. We use your donations to buy medical equipment, support training, innovation, education and much more that wouldn't be available the NHS without charitable funding. The charity works to help enhance patient care and their care experience across eight main hospital sites and in community settings, including in our patients' homes.
