The Montrose Playhouse is in our opinion the best thing to happen to the town in many years, not just a place to see the latest film but also a venue for many community events, but like any charity there’s always a bit of money needed to enhance the facilities and replace/repair any worn out kit. The team at the playhouse have been trialing glasses for people with hearing issues, they have self contained subtitles, this means that any film would be accessible to this group and not just selected titles. The Playhouse has done a great job to be inclusive and this would help continue the great work done so far. It is hoped some of these glasses will be paid for by a sponsor but as you can imagine they aren’t cheap so if we can get a couple of pairs paid for on top of this it’ll allow more people to use this facility. If there’s any money left it would be used to maintain or enhance the building.
