Story
Bob was a Fireman in the London Fire Brigade for 30 years attending some of the most memorable ‘shouts’ during his service including the Moorgate tube crash, the Iranian Embassy siege and the Poll tax riots. As a family we were incredibly lucky to never need to call upon the support of the Fire Fighters Charity during his career but in his later years, and when mum was unwell, they were able to take advantage of respite care at their rehab facilities in Kent, Cumbria and Devon. Even after retiring Dad continued to be involved with the Fire Service, volunteering at the Kent Firefighting Museum , supporting ‘Fireman's Corner’ at Highgate Cemetery and his favourite the annual Ypres visit for the last post ceremony at the Menin Gate. Being able to support Fire Fighters that worked alongside dad and those who followed seems the perfect legacy. Thank you for your support.
