Story
I met Rhiannon just months before my dad Steve died in 2018. She was so amazing, so kind and funny. We only got one good year of comedy and cosplay, in between Burkitt Lymphoma attacking her brain.
The first time, after several months on a hospital floor beside the bed we thought we'd beaten it and then had a full-on year in an amazing relationship together.
This aggressive cancer came back, we beat it but she was completely blind, we were going to carry on regardless.
Then it came back again and there was no treatments left, no one left to call except palliative care, but I reached out across the globe anyway. Unfortunately by 2022, she'd already had the best care available, and I cared for her until she died in my arms at home around 8PM one morning. It was after another difficult night of so many. The only saving graces were that I woke up just prior to hold her as she passed and her suffering had ended.
