Bois Y Sgwar Corner to Corner Cycle Ride 2026

TEAM BOIS Y SGWAR is raising money for Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity

196 MILE CYCLE RIDE ACROSS WALES · 4 September 2026

Sandy Bear exists to support children, young people and families in the lead up to or following the death of someone close to them. Our work ensures that no child grieves alone, and that they have space to understand and to develop resilience and overcome adversity.

Story

BOIS Y SGWAR – CORNER TO CORNER RIDE 04 – 06 SEPT 2026

Bois Y Sgwar are a group of guys, most of whom might best be described as past their prime, who have set themselves an annual challenge that raises money for a local charity.

We are based out of Square and Compass on the North Pembrokeshire coast, and have previously raised over £5000 each for Shalom house in 2024, by completing the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge and in 2025, supporting Get the Boys a Lift, by cycling the coast of Pembrokeshire.

This year, we are aiming to cycle from corner to corner across Wales – from Point of Ayr the most North Easterly point in Wales, to St Davids Cathedral in deep South West Wales – a distance of 196 miles, and climbing a total of almost 14,000 feet, over the weekend 04 – 06 September 2026. We will have 8 riders plus a small support team.

This year we are supporting Sandy Bear charity – which started out in Pembrokeshire but have now spread throughout Wales. Bois Y Sgwar are hugely conscious of the amazing work that they do in supporting children who have suffered bereavement – either parents or siblings, helping them through a hugely difficult period in their young lives. We are proud to support this work and hope that through your kind donations we can raise at least £2,000 to help their essential work.
