Bonnie Pierre-Davis is raising money for Let’s Talk About Loss
In memory of Mum & Dad

Hackney Half Marathon 2026 · 17 May 2026 ·

Let's Talk About Loss runs peer-led meet ups across the UK for anyone aged 18 to 35 who has experienced bereavement. They are relaxed, safe, accessible spaces where young grievers can meet others who understand. Together, we're talking through the taboo.

Story

Running for the Conversations We Don’t Have

When I was 26, my dad died of cancer. Four years later, my mum died of cancer.

Losing one parent changes your life. Losing both before you’ve properly found your footing in adulthood is something else entirely. There’s no clear roadmap for losing your parents when you’re still young enough to rely on them.

A charity that has helped me along the way - Let's Talk About Loss - is who I am fundraising for today.

Let’s Talk About Loss creates spaces for young adults who are grieving to meet others in similar situations. It’s about honest conversations - about death, about anger, about the unfairness of it all - without the pressure to “move on” or tidy things up into a neat story.

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and it doesn’t feel smaller just because you’re young.

I’m running in memory of my dad and my mum - and in support of anyone navigating loss earlier than they expected to.

If you’re able to donate, you’ll help fund a charity that makes those conversations possible and reminds young people they’re not alone.

Thank you for your support.

Bonnie
