Story
I’m raising money for Alzheimer’s because this disease has touched my family in the most personal way. My dad is living with mixed dementia, and watching someone you love change in ways you can’t control is heartbreaking.
Dementia doesn’t just affect memory — it affects personality, independence, confidence, and relationships. Some days my dad is very much himself, and other days he’s confused, frustrated, or frightened by a world that no longer makes sense to him. It’s painful to see how much this disease takes, not just from him, but from everyone who loves and cares for him.
Alzheimer’s and dementia are cruel, complex conditions, and right now there is no cure. But research, support services, and awareness can make a real difference — helping families cope, improving care, and bringing us closer to better treatments in the future.
By raising money, I want to honour my dad and support the millions of families who are facing the same daily challenges we are. Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund vital research and provides support to people living with dementia and their loved ones.
Thank you so much for reading, for donating, and for helping me turn something painful into something hopeful. 💜
