Story
On Boxing Day I will be doing a Christmas cold dip to raise money for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust 💙⛵️
They’ve been such a huge part of my life after cancer and honestly I don’t think people always realise how much cancer treatment messes with your sense of who you even are. It’s not just your body. It can totally wipe your identity. During treatment you have no idea who you’ll be afterwards or what you’ll be capable of and it can feel like life as you knew it is just… gone.
After going through breast cancer treatment a few years ago I felt pretty lost. The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust helped me feel independent, capable and brave again. They gave me confidence back and helped me believe that I could still have adventures and goals and a future that feels exciting. I've made some incredible memories with the other cancer kids 😂 and so much of what I want to do with my life now has been shaped by that support.
EMCT are running their own cold dip this Christmas but it’s too far away for me so I’m doing one in solidarity closer to home. Cold water has this funny way of reminding you that you’re stronger than you think and that you can still do hard things even when they scare you a bit
If you want to come along and join me you’re more than welcome. If you’re able to donate that would mean the world. And if you just read this and it just reminded you to CHECK YOUR BOOBS then just do that!
It’s that time of year for giving and every donation helps EMCT continue giving young people living with and beyond cancer their confidence hope and sense of possibility back 💙
Thank you for supporting me and this cause.
