I am not a sporty person 😆
I’ve always been on the “curvy” side and whilst I eat fairly healthily, I’m sure you can tell that my favourite foods are chocolate and pizza 😂
I’ve always heard people saying exercise is good for your mental health, and as someone that struggles with depression and occasionally anxiety (probably a bit of a surprise if you’ve met me and don’t know me well!), I’ve always considered exercise but not really known where to start 😂 I used to do 4 exercise classes a week but as life changed, so did my interests and I got bored of that. Then it was back to the drawing board again.
I’ve mentioned previously that I’ve signed up to volunteer in South Africa for The Footprints Foundation with some of my colleagues at BPE Solicitors LLP. Whilst a few of them are doing this enormous cycling challenge from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, I decided to do something that I thought might be a bit more manageable for me… the half marathon 😳 I only learnt to ride a bike properly last year so I don’t think a ride through the Penines would be good for me… 😅 But a half marathon COULD be manageable!
I want to do this as part of my “30 things before I’m 30” list, a mission to get fit, to improve my mental health AND most importantly, to raise money for The Footprints Foundation and fund my trip to volunteer there.
