Story
As some of you may know, on October 18th, we as a family lost the head of the Hardings. My Bampi, our beloved grandad. Terry Harding.
He had been dealing with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia for honestly too long and ‘The Long Goodbye’ was more and more painful every single day.
Being out in Sydney, Australia made this all the more difficult for me and Lucy’s support has been incredible throughout. Seeing my family go through such pain and sorrow whilst only being able to be there via a screen has been a truly heartbreaking experience in itself.
With that, I have decided to run 100KM over the month of December and Lucy will run 75KM over the same period to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society in the UK.
A short description of the work Alzheimer’s Society is doing:
Alzheimer’s Society is a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by dementia. It provides information, advice, and care services, funds research to better understand and treat dementia, and campaigns for improved public awareness and government action. Its goal is a world where dementia no longer devastates lives, and everyone affected receives the support they need.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above, whatever you can contribute to this worthy cause will be truly appreciated. Lucy and I will keep our progress updated through Instagram/Facebook stories and hopefully we’ll be able to reach the target that we have set in AUD!
Rest in peace, Bampi. Love you always x
