London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·

Running 13.1 miles through the City and Westminster past a stunning landscape of iconic London landmarks. An exciting challenge and opportunity to celebrate our wonderful culture and communities on a route like no other.

Story

I have wanted to run a half or a full marathon for charity for a number of years now. However, it was not until my recent personal experience with Princess Alice Hospice that I felt genuinely impassioned to raise money for a charity.

Princess Alice and the specialists, doctors, nurses, and volunteer staff that work there do an absolutely amazing job, not only providing incredible end of life care to tens of thousands of people with life threatening illnesses, but also, give incredible support to families before and after the death of a loved one. This is something that we all hear about, but, I think, are not fully aware of the importance of until we may be in the unfortunate position where we are seeking their support during some of the hardest periods in ours, and our families lives.

As an organisation, they are entirely reliant on charity donations, and unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, they are typically only able to open half of the available rooms in their Hospices. Because of this, not all families in need are able to access the care and support of the Hospice.

I wanted to run this half to raise money to show my appreciation for the amazing work that the Hospice do, as well as help those families who are not lucky enough to receive their care and support, hopefully be given that opportunity.

All donations are greatly appreciated!!
