Story

In 2024, my Mother was unfortunately diagnosed with motor neurone disease. This devastating news has inspired me to take action, and I am running in the London Marathon 2026 to raise awareness and contribute to vital research for this challenging condition.

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive illness that attacks the motor neurones in the brain and spinal cord. As these nerves deteriorate, messages gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading to weakness and wasting. MND can impact various aspects of life, including how one walks, talks, eats, drinks, and breathes. It is important to note that not everyone experiences all symptoms or in any specific order.

While there is currently no cure for MND, there are ways to manage symptoms that can help individuals achieve the best possible quality of life. This is why I am committed to raising £2,700 for this cause; every contribution will help support research efforts aimed at finding better treatments and ultimately a cure.

I invite you to join me on this journey by supporting my fundraising efforts for the London Marathon 2026 on April 26th. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by MND and bring hope for a brighter future.
