Story
In memory of my brother Joe & to commemorate the 5th anniversary of his unforeseen passing from a sudden cardiac death at the age of 26. I am hiking from Bournemouth Pier to Exeter Quay to raise money for ECHO. ECHO has supported my family through my 3 sibling's being born with heart condition's.
The hike is 120 miles across the Jurassic Coast & South West Coast Path over 5 days covering up to 30 miles on some days & climbing over 16,000ft of elevation gains including the golden cap, the highest point in the South West of England.
ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who’ve been treated by Evelina London and its network hospitals across the UK. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey from the moment of diagnosis through childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services. ECHO provides practical and emotional support and welcomes families into a community of shared experience and understanding, at times when there is little other help available.
