Story

Hello Hello,

First of all, thank you for stopping by this page.

Last year on Father's Day 15th June 2025, we were dealt the worst news. After our little bean had a funny turn after falling off her nest swing, we were advised to attend A&E where they performed a quick CT scan looking for a chipped bone or bleed. Only to find, at 3 years old, she had an orange sized frontal lobe brain tumour which was growing through and fracturing her skull. After finding out, we were immediately whisked to Sheffield Children's Hospital where we would spend the next few weeks with Bean undergoing extra tests, scans, treatment and emergency brain surgery within four days. Luckily, we've had the best surgeons, medical team and support around us and still do, and she got through the surgery and has made a good recovery so far.

Due to their incredible support, I have set this fundraiser up as part of my charity challenge to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital, The Brain Tumour Charity & Young Lives vs Cancer - all of which have been incredible support to us during such a difficult time.

Doing it this way allows you lovely people donating the ability to choose your 'preferred' charity of the three.

About Me.

For those of you who know me... I am NOT a runner, so this is genuinely a scary challenge for me to undertake! I've recently started running, and wanted to link running with a charity idea, so instead of doing one marathon, why not do SEVEN, around SEVEN different parks in the lovely Sheffield, within SEVEN days. (As locals know, it's certainly not a flat place).

Why This Date?

This year, the 15th of June 2026 is a Monday (a year to the date we found out), and Father's Day is on the Sunday 21st June 2026 (Father's Day also being the day we found out) so this just made sense to me to run this challenge over this week, a week that will be engrained in our minds and hearts for the rest of our lives.

Extra Details.

More details will be announced of the locations of the runs and which days. (Yes, Rother Valley is Sheffield. Yes it counts. Yes it will be Saturday's run.)

So if you want to come run, even 5km with me, please feel free. Most of the parks will just be looped laps of either 1 or 2 parks linked together, with a support tent set up and a bag drop should you want to come support or run a few laps.
