Team Braemar Runs for Street Paws

Braemar Vet Clinic is raising money for Street Paws

Belfast City Marathon · 3 May 2026 ·

For pet owners experiencing homelessness, a pet is often their only source of support. Street Paws helps hostels to become pet-friendly and provides free veterinary care to homeless pet owners, ensuring they do not have to choose between their pet and a safe place to sleep.

Story

Vet Set Go!

The team at Braemar Vets is taking on the Belfast City Marathon on 3rd May, and we’re running for a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts.

We are proud to be raising money for Street Paws, a charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness and their pets. This cause is especially meaningful to us, as our own vet Lauren leads the Northern Ireland branch of Street Paws and sees first-hand the difference this work makes.

Street Paws is driving a national movement to make pet-friendly support the norm, not the exception. They challenge outdated policies, bring together the homelessness and animal welfare sectors, and campaign for fair, equal access to housing and vital support for every person and every pet.

On the first Monday of each month Lauren joins a team of volunteer vets and vet nurses, to participate in a veterinary outreach. The team provides veterinary advice, preventative healthcare and first aid to the pets of people in need or experiencing homelessness in Belfast.

By donating, you’re helping to keep pets and their owners together, providing essential care, and supporting a more compassionate and inclusive future.

Every contribution, big or small, will help us reach our goal and make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support! 🐾
