BIG X NKMT Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

BIG X NKMT Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge · 15 April 2024
The Brain Inflammation Group (BIG) at the University of Manchester carries out research to find new treatments for stroke.
Brain haemorrhage, where there is a bleed in the brain, is the deadliest and most disabling type of stroke. 40% of patients die within the first month, and this statistic has not changed in 40 years. Unfortunately, there are currently no treatments for brain haemorrhage. It is important that research is done to find these desperately needed new treatments.
We are delighted to be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for the Natalie Kate Moss Trust (NKMT), which is dedicated to funding research on brain haemorrhage. The NKMT was established in 2012 after the sudden death of Natalie Kate Moss at the age of 26 from a brain haemorrhage.
More than twenty members of BIG have put themselves forward for the tough 24.5-mile hike to raise funds for the NKMT and we would welcome any donations to support this worthwhile cause.
