Story
WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT TO CONTINUE AN INNOVATIVE INTERVENTION FOR OUR ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS.
We are a small community based neurorehabilitation service that supports acquired brain injury survivors to regain their lives after a brain injury.
Over the last year, we have developed a novel nature based intervention in collaboration with Halo Leisure Centre; The Adaptive Cycling Group. This group draws on the latest research and evidence base about the impact that nature-based interventions can have on brain injury survivors’ rehabilitation. The group provides the social context to reduce client’s isolation, improve their social communication, and offer the opportunity to deliver live neurorehabilitation in the community context.
We need to ensure that the success of the group is sustainable and so we are embarking on a challenge…Our brain injury survivors and us will be cycling a distance of 285km on October 27th. The monies raised from this will be used to ensure this group can be delivered for future brain injury survivors. We also hope that monies can be put towards other adapted bikes, so that the wider adaptive community can benefit from this resource, and not just our clients.
We will be very grateful for any donation that you could offer us.
