Story
I’m incredibly grateful to have gained a place to run the London Marathon in 2024 for Pilgrims Hospice. Pilgrims has unexpectedly become close to my heart after my Dad, Ian Clark, become unwell early in 2023 and sadly passed in June 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Pilgrims provided some exceptional end of life care for him and I will be forever thankful for the compassion and care they showed me and my family as his life came to a premature end.
I run regularly but have only ever run as far as a half marathon twice in my life up to the point of gaining my place for the marathon. This is quite a feat, but I am driven and determined to complete so that I can raise funds for an incredible cause.
I am also really honoured to have my friend Edward running to raise for this cause. The donation goal is our combined amount we would like to raise for Pilgrim’s.
At its heart, Pilgrims is dedicated to providing skilled and compassionate care, free of charge, to people living with an incurable illness in east Kent. Their vision is that people with a life-limiting illness are supported and empowered to live well in mind & body, making the most of the time they have. They care for over 2,500 patients a year, at their 3 inpatient units in Canterbury, Thanet & Ashford, their therapy centres, or in patients’ own homes. With 80% of their funding being voluntary contributions, your support cannot be overstated.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much for your support.
