The main activities of the charity are search and rescue of missing or injured persons in the hills of Tayside Region and beyond, the provision of training and equipment for the mountain rescue team members and the raising of funds to support such activities.

Story

In order to raise money for Tayside Mountain Rescue, Calum McBean, a 16-year-old S6 student at Breadalbane Academy, is running a 58-kilometer ultra marathon over the four Breadalbane house hills, Ben Lawers, Meall na Aighean(formerly Creag Mhor), Schiehallion and Farragon.

Tayside Mountain Rescue are a voluntary service who are on call 24/7 ready to help anyone in need in Tayside's hills. Any donations greatly support them in continuing their great work.

The route is approximately 58km with 3700m climb and covers all sort of terrain including trail, road, and cross country. This is the route:

Calum is planning to run it on Sunday 7th September 2025 as long as the weather allows.
