Story
Over 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis, affecting their ability to work, study, care for family, move free from pain and live independently. But arthritis is still poorly understood and far too little is done to raise awareness of the symptoms people face.
My name is Holly and I represent one individual number in these statistics. I was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis two days before my 11th birthday, having just celebrated six years of my diagnosis journey I have decided to fundraise once again for such an amazing charity.
Arthritis UK funds life-changing research, supports those affected and campaigns for change. Arthritis UK won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.
ArthritisUK helped me with my diagnosis journey - I'd be lost without them. Their work with Noahs Ark Children's Hospital in Cardiff has really helped to give me my life back and also shape my future for the better. I am proud to be an ambassador for this charity, their work has not gone unnoticed in my eyes and I wont stop until they have the recognition they deserve.
This charity means a lot to me, they have consistently been there and have introduced me to so many other people that are going through similar things. Some of my closest friendships have been made through their work and I couldn't be more grateful to that.
I am going to be hosting my very own night at the musicals to honour all of the work that this charity has done for me. I'm inviting some of my friends and local groups to come and perform because we want to share stories and bring light to how amazing their work is - because no young person deserves to feel alone with their condition.
If you have any money that you are willing to donate I would be honoured to receive it on this page.
£18 is enough to help to answer a phone on their helpline
£50 could help someone with arthritis join a self-management programme.
£285 could help a young person with arthritis attend a residential weekend.
Your support could change someone's life. Anybody can struggle with arthritis - help us to share that message.
Thankyou so much for all of your support, it really means the world to me.
Yours sincerely, Holly
