Santa 5km for Breaking the Chains

Fund Raiser is raising money for Islington Law Centre
Donations cannot currently be made to this page

Santa Run · 13 December 2025

The Law Centre stands up for people's rights through specialist casework in five major areas: housing, immigration, welfare benefits, education and debt. We also run legal advice clinics for those who cannot otherwise afford a lawyer. We are good at what we do and your support goes a long way.

Story

Update: We did it! All our Santas completed their race! Please check out the photo gallery below, and thank you so very much to everyone who has supported us this year: your support means so much and all your donations no matter the size will make a difference for the Breaking the Chains children and young people.

--

Please donate this festive season to invest in the future of some of the most vulnerable child and young asylum seekers.

We will be running 5km dressed as Santa on 13 December to raise much-needed funds for the Breaking the Chains project.

This ground-breaking project, run by MiCLU at Islington Law Centre in partnership with Shpresa Programme, provides child-centred advice to children and young people who have fled violence, persecution or trafficking, as well as support for them to be heard and their needs met in an increasingly hostile environment.

We desperately need funds to help children and young people secure protection and a chance to move forward in safety.

This year has been tough and the project has been running with increasingly limited funding. We struggle with simple things such as covering travel costs to enable the young people to attend groups, and buying nutritious food for cooking sessions.

With your help, young people can gain support in a system that too often doubts their stories, and build a future.
