Why we're taking the plunge – again!
Friday 6th June 6am, Coleford Bridge Rd, Mytchett, Camberley GU16 6DS
In 2010, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer—a life-changing moment that sparked my journey as a volunteer fundraiser. Since then, I've been proud to support Breast Cancer Now, raising vital funds to help others facing the same fight.
One of our most beloved fundraising events is the legendary Ladies Only Skinny Dip at the beautiful QuaySwim lake in Mytchett. Held twice a year, this empowering event brings together hundreds of incredible women—of all ages, shapes, and sizes—to celebrate life, strength, and solidarity.
Over the years, our community of brave dippers has grown, and so has the spirit of the event: it's about camaraderie, love, respect, unity, and the shared belief that we can make a difference. Whether it's your first dip or your tenth, every splash helps raise money and awareness for this amazing cause. The very generous and hospitable QuaySwim team have agreed to host this wonderful event for us again this year and we couldn't be more grateful to them for the love and support
The event will be held at 6am on Friday 6th June. First entry into the water at 6:15am and last entry 7:30am. If you'd like to be part of our team photo, please arrive by 6am as we will be doing this before the session begins.
Join us, support us, or sponsor us —we're baring all for a brilliant reason. 💗
To secure your places, please donate £10 and leave your name so I can identify you and add you to the list of skinny dippers!
If you haven’t swum at the Quays before, you MUST also sign the waiver at https://www.quayswim.co.uk
If you have any raffle prizes to donate, please email Kate at katesbaker9@gmail.com. Please also share the link to this page far and wide so people can sponsor you - and let's make this the BIGGEST SKINNY DIP YET!
All you need to bring with you on the day is a brightly coloured hat (of any type), some cash for extras, your bravery and a BIG smile.
You can choose to just dip, or you can swim around the lake - looked after by our incredible female lifeguards. There will be raffle prizes, hot drinks and pastries, and lovely firepits where you can warm up and share your stories.
Do one thing every day that scares you!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, as always, for your incredible support
Katie, Debs, Shells and the entire Breast Cancer Now Surrey Fundraising Team xx
