Breathing Space Yoga Christmas Fundraising for Cheshire Wildlife Trust

Yoga Fundraising Classes

We care for nature reserves and help local landowners to manage their land for wildlife. We fight to protect wildlife from developments and campaign for better protection of the natural environment. We inspire people of all ages to care for local wildlife and help them benefit from nature.

Story

Thank you for supporting my fundraising this year. Cheshire Wildlife Trust are fighting to protect wildlife on our doorstep across Cheshire, Halton, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Warrington and Wirral.  They've been fighting for local wildlife for 60 years.

"Nature in the UK is broken. We have never needed a healthy natural world more - and it in return has never needed us more. The good news is that it’s not too late to fix things. We can’t do it without you. Let’s bring wildlife back together – for everyone, everywhere."

Some of CWT current projects that need our funding:

🍄Protecting Cheshire’s last wildlife refuges: continued care for our 34 nature reserves - last refuges where wild plants, mammals, birds and insects are given the space they need to survive. Our nature reserves are homes for water voles, breeding grounds for lapwings and overwintering shelter for bitterns.

🦫Bringing Beavers Back to Cheshire: ongoing funding to support this five-year 'nature-led' project. A pair of beavers were released into a 10 acre enclosure in November 2020, to save and restore the wetland ecosystem at Hatchmere Nature Reserve.

🌳Bring Wildlife Back to Cheshire's Peak District: Wildlife here is in crisis.

Homes for wading birds like curlew have been lost. Wildflower meadows have been lost. Wildlife in our rivers has been lost. Native woodland and hedgerows have been lost. Towns and villages are at increased risk of flooding.

🌸Saltersford Farm Appeal: the beginning of many years of work to bring wildlife back to this intensively- farmed landscape. We want to create wildflower meadows, plant trees and create wetland areas here.

If you attend a Christmas class this year £3 of your fee will go to Cheshire Wildlife Trust, and I welcome additional donations here on Justgiving.

Together we'll play our part in bringing wildlife back to our locality and keeping those special places for us and the next generations to enjoy.
