Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 · 12 October 2025 ·

We provide specialist palliative and end of life care for adults living across central and south west London. This year, we must raise £13m to supplement the funding we receive from the NHS so we can continue to provide our outstanding, compassionate care, free of charge. Your support is vital.

Story

I am attempting to run my very first half marathon in October this year. I thought it would be a good opportunity (and good incentive for me) to run for a cause!

For those of you who know me, you know that my dad, Gareth, passed away from Cancer in 2007. I was only 11 years old. He fought a good fight against an incurable cancer, and it was Hospice who really helped him get through the last few months of his life and made it as comfortable and pain free as possible.

It’s for this reason I’ve chosen to raise money for Hospice. They do a great thing, and it’s a thing they need everyone’s help to continue to do.

Although my dad was helped by Hospice in South Africa, I still wholeheartedly believe in what Hospice do. I have also seen the impact they have had on the families of some students I teach. They really do make an unbearable time, just a little more bearable.

I would be so grateful if you would consider donating toward this fantastic cause - I’ll even run a kilometre for you!
