Story
This October I have undertaken to swim a mile for each child currently attending school thanks to Educational Sponsorship through Joy of Learning.
Joy of Learning works in Uganda with children that have been reunited with family members after living at Sanyu Babies’ Home. Joy of Learning’s primary aim is to enable children to attend school by finding Educational Sponsors who will pay £15 a month, which covers one child’s school fees and school requirements. Joy of Learning also makes sure that the basic needs of each family are met by providing essential food, hygiene, clothing and medical support where needed.
Joy of Learning is two years old, but their Educational Sponsorship programme has only been running since Easter so it’s wonderful that already 24 children are sponsored. When I started the challenge, that number was 19 – I am delighted that the number has grown and that so many more children’s lives are being changed.
If you would like to encourage me in my swim, please consider donating to Joy of Learning’s valuable work - or you might like to consider sponsoring a child’s Education – just £15 a month can change a child’s future.
If you want to keep up to date with my swim total, find me on Facebook where I am posting regular updates.
Thank you very much!
