On August 30, 2026, I’ll be taking on the Sydney Marathon to support the incredible work of Cliona’s Foundation.

Cliona’s Foundation provides essential non-medical financial assistance to families in Ireland caring for a child with a life-limiting illness. They help cover the "hidden" costs—like travel, accommodation, and specialized equipment—that mount up during a crisis. Every donation goes directly toward easing the burden on these brave families so they can focus on what matters most: being there for their child.

For me, this resonates. My sister was critically ill as a child, and I know firsthand how valuable this support would have been to my family. A marathon is a walk in the park compared to the difficult journey facing many families.

Below is feedback from a family recently supported by Cliona's:

"With spending 7 months at present in hospital 24/7 with our daughter, it meant neither of us could work... We are not entitled to carers benefit as she has never been discharged. We were living on my maternity benefit which has stopped now & didn’t cover the mortgage or bills. We are so grateful & overwhelmed with your support... This is a light in a foggy dew for us."
