As we know so well, books are a magical thing. BookTrust’s research demonstrates that children who read are more likely to be happier and healthier than their peers, and do better at school. Reading can also help disadvantaged children overcome inequalities and educational barriers.

BookTrust’s work supports children and families from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds, particularly in the early years. Providing books and resources for every newborn baby through their BookStart programme, the charity continues to work with school children until the age of 13 to showcase the very best in children's literature.
