We offer care and support to people facing a life-limiting illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and hear about my fifty2fifty swim.

My fifty2fifty swim starts on Sunday 16th July and for 50 days in a row, I will be swimming 100 lengths (2,500 meters) of a swimming pool, finishing on what would have been my dear friend Steven Miller's 50th birthday on 3rd September. I will once again be raising money for Peace Hospice Care in Steven's memory.

Steven Miller passed away on Friday 26th August 2022 following a short battle with cancer and not a day has gone by since when I haven't thought about him. He continues to leave a massive hole in my life and the lives of everyone who knew him.

Having raised over £2.500 last October in a charity swim in his name, I decided to do something more daring this year to commemorate Steven's 50th birthday hence the fifty2fifty idea.

The Peace Hospice is a health facility caring for people with a life-limiting or terminal illness, which is funded by public donation.

The advice and support offered to Steven and his family during his last weeks and indeed after he died, was invaluable. Also, having been admitted to the Hospice the day before he died, they made his final few hours as comfortable as they could.

The aim of this swim is to raise as much money as possible to ensure The Peace Hospice has as many funds as it can to make sure that other people can enjoy the same support and assistance that was given to Steven Miller and his family
