I’m raising money for Canaan Project because they’re doing outstanding work with teenage girls in my area (Tower Hamlets). A significant reduction in funding to youth services over time has led to an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour. There are a lack of safe spaces for youth to go outside of school hours, and during their holidays. Tower Hamlets has a growing young population and a dramatically high rate of child poverty (48%). The demand of services for young people has increased through the pandemic and has been exacerbated in the face of the current cost-of-living crisis. Any donation you can offer towards the work Canaan do with teenage girls is hugely appreciated and will go a long way.
