Story

This October, at the age of 80, I’ll be representing Great Britain at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Australia — cycling against the best riders in the world in my 80+ category.
It’s taken months of training, early mornings, and some very tough climbs to get here. I’ve even entered the Time Trial — and with so few riders in my age group, there’s a real chance I could bring home a medal for Team GB!
But this ride is about more than just crossing the finish line.

Why I’m Riding
I’m riding to raise £15,000 for Prostate Cancer research and support.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men — 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime. I know firsthand the importance of early detection and good treatment: I was treated successfully four years ago and am grateful every day for the care I received.
Your donation will help fund life-saving research and provide support for men and families living with prostate cancer today.
How You Can Help
Every pound you give will spur me on as I take on the tough Australian course. You’ll be riding with me in spirit — every hill I climb, every kilometre I cover, will be powered by your support.
🏅 Target: £15,000
💙 100% of funds (and any surplus) go directly to prostate cancer research & support
📸 I’ll share updates and photos from Australia so you can follow my journey all the way to the finish line
Please donate what you can — and share this page with friends, family, and colleagues. Together we can make a difference.
