Story
In February 2016 ( the week my granddaughter Mollie was born ) I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). Over the next couple of years I was fortunate, in so far as, I didn’t suffer many acute symptoms, that is until 2021. When, after several bouts in hospital my medical team decided I should be placed on the liver transplant register. So on the 6th October 2021 I was officially placed on the register. 999 days later on 1st of July 2024 I received my new liver. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for my donor and their family at the new lease of life they have given me.
So, in their honour and in support of the PSC charity, whose help and understanding was very reassuring, I intend to complete an indoor 5K swim (with my family swimming with me) on Sunday 30th November 2025.
PSC Support is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by the rare, autoimmune disease, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). PSC has no cure or medical treatment.
Donating to my fundraising page means you are helping PSC Support to provide much-needed support and information to people affected by PSC. Critically, you'll be helping PSC Support to fund and drive groundbreaking PSC research, taking us closer and closer to a cure. Every penny counts.
Many, Many thanks …. Brian
