Story
Hi, I'm Brianna — a TTP survivor, warrior, and advocate.
To preface, I've lived with chronic Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) for most of my life. Although I've gone through multiple flare-ups and treatments over the years, I was fortunate to reach remission each time.
But in July 2024, just two weeks after giving birth to my daughter, everything changed. What started as sudden illness quickly became a life-threatening emergency. I was hospitalized with critically low blood counts, and after my condition rapidly worsened, I was diagnosed with acquired Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), a rare blood disorder that requires immediate treatment.
I spent 17 days in the hospital undergoing life saving treatments. Thanks to the quick actions of my incredible medical team, I was able to return home to start my recovery journey and be with my husband, my newborn daughter, my parents, and eventually reach remission.
That experience changed me. Living with TTP means accepting that relapse is always a possibility, but it has also given me a deep appreciation for every healthy day and every moment with my family and friends.
That's why I'm raising money for the TTPNetwork Side-by-Side Community Walk. When you're diagnosed with a rare disease, having access to reliable information and a community that understands what you're going through can make all the difference. The TTPNetwork provides that support while also helping raise awareness so more people recognize this disease and get treatment quickly.
Walking is my way of giving back. It's a chance to honor the team that saved my life, support others on this journey, and help bring hope to families facing TTP.
Thank you for supporting me and the TTPNetwork. Your generosity helps ensure that no one has to face this rare disease alone.
