Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

First of all let me explain. The LOVE HOPE STRENGTH FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA is a Non-profit organisation

LHS is a rock n roll cancer charity founded by Welsh musician Mike Peters, raising funds & awareness for cancer research one concert and one trek at a time.

I have personally been involved in LHS concerts and events in Australia, Africa, Japan, Peru, USA Hawaii, USA Colorado, USA New Jersey.

Each of these concerts and hikes has gone to support people in need of cancer treatment.

This year in April, I am setting out to do my 2nd hike in the Annapurna Mountains of Nepal. This time I am doing it to raise money for the Love Hope Strength Foundation Australia. Since it's inception in 2007 the foundation has donated over $100,000 dollars to support charities like Canteen and Nelune Foundation with projects such as patient transport vehicles, adolescent cancer care, prostate cancer equipment and the establishment of a bone marrow transplant unit at the Prince Of Wales Hospital Randwick.

Almost everyone has known someone that they have either lost to cancer, is fighting cancer now, or has survived cancer.

Every dollar that can be raised to help us have more cancer survivors is a dollar well spent. All donations over $2 can be a tax deduction.

When I hiked Mt Kilimanjaro in 2009 as part of the LHS Kili Rocks event, I raised donations by selling pray flags at $5 per flag. I asked for the name of a cancer victim, patient or survivor, I wrote the name on each prayer flag and carried them in my backpack to honour the people and their families.

This year I want to do the same but hang the flags with the many other flags at Annapurna Base Camp sending Love Hope and Strength upon the winds from the top of the world.
