Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

The Brighton Marathon is my seventh marathon, and it will be the third that I will be running for MAP. My running is done in memory of Rachel Marie Brackstone who died in February 2021. Rachel was the mother of my children, and someone that was a huge part of my life.

I am attempting to run 38 x marathons in Rachel's memory. I chose this number as this was her age when she passed away. The first letter of the marathons that I have chosen to run spell out her name.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about everything, questioning past choices and actions, and with the view that I should have done more to help.

I will always feel that way but I want to channel Rachel's memory into doing more now.

My focus is to raise money to help vulnerable people and communities that are struggling.

MAP is a UK-based charity that supports the health and medical needs of Palestinians and other vulnerable communities in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Lebanon.

MAP have been working in occupied Palestine and Lebanon for more than 40 years, work with Palestinian communities, to deliver locally-led health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement.

MAP's local teams are among the first to respond to emergencies and are usually one of the only international organisations who are working to provide humanitarian and medical services. MAP are also committed to speaking out against injustices that prevent Palestinians from fully enjoying their rights to health and dignity, and campaign to ensure the voices of Palestinians impacted by occupation, displacement and conflict are heard at the highest levels.
