Cycling Brighton to Barcelona

We’re here for the cure. Cure Parkinson’s is working with urgency to find new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

Story

As an ambassador for the World Parkinson Congress being held in Barcelona on 4th - 7th July and a keen cyclist, it was perhaps inevitable that I would cycle there to raise awareness of Parkinson's and to raise funds for the brilliant charity that is Cure Parkinson's.

We are a team of nineteen people, nine with Parkinson's, many of whom will meet for the first time at the starting point in Brighton.

Our Team:

The Gloucestershire Cyclopaths - Alison & John Anderson, Caroline & Paul Broekman, Julia Woods and Roland Valori

From elsewhere in the UK - Gary Shaughnessy, Julian McCarthy and Declan O'Brien

From Norway - Rune Vethe, Jon Bjarte Vethe, Rune Bjerke and Erik Hagensen

From Australia - Geoff Constable

From America - Dave & Kathy Tempest

From Canada - Denise & Jim Lawrence and Steve Iseman

We will each cycle 1,600km from Brighton to Barcelona. Alison, John, Geoff and Roland plan to cycle an additional 250km from Cheltenham to Brighton as a warm up!
