Story
Thank you so much for your support and donation. I truly appreciate it. Please take a moment to read my story and understand my *why*.
The Charity: EACH
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is a local charity that provides specialist, lifelong care for babies, children, and young people with life-limiting conditions, while also supporting their families every step of the way. Their aim is simple but powerful: to ensure the best possible quality of life for every child and family they support.
Depending on individual needs, EACH delivers care in their hospices, in family homes, in hospitals, or virtually. This flexible approach ensures families receive care in an environment where they feel safe, supported, and comfortable.
EACH’s Ipswich hospice, Treehouse, opened in May 2011 and has since supported hundreds of babies, children, and young people, alongside their families. Treehouse offers five bedrooms, a multi-sensory studio, a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory garden, and a woodland walk. They now aim to expand the site to support even more children and continue providing the highest standard of care.
My Story and My Why
“Project 200” — also known as Brighton to Ipswich — is something I’ve thought long and hard about over the past year. I’ve asked myself plenty of tough questions:
Have I bitten off more than I can chew?
Is this too far out of my depth?
Can I really do this?
I still don’t know the answers to all of them. But on 29 May 2026, I hope to find out.
A little crazy? Probably. But there’s always a reason behind what I do — and this time, my why is incredibly special.
Why EACH? Why Treehouse?
Treehouse is just a five-minute walk from my home, yet for years I never fully understood the impact of the work done there. That changed when my fiancée, Holly, moved to Ipswich and began her role at Treehouse.
Listening to the stories of the care provided every single day — and seeing the dedication, compassion, and consistency shown to children and families — has been truly inspiring. It’s this work, and the people behind it, that have motivated me to take on this mammoth challenge.
Treehouse inspires me because of how they show up for families with hope and unwavering support. Thanks to Holly and her colleagues, these young people are given the best possible quality of life during the most difficult times. Their stories are what push me to train, even on the hardest days.
I’m taking on this challenge to raise as much money as possible to support the incredible children, families, and staff at Treehouse and EACH. I’m doing this for the families who have lost children, for those who continue to lean on Treehouse for support, and for the professionals who provide care with such heart and dedication every day.
My why will always be the children who need care at Treehouse and EACH — and the people who make that care possible. This is for them.
There will always be doubters. Let them doubt.
1 man. 200km. 30 hours. Let’s go.💙
