On the 12th of July I am taking the ultimate leap of faith and abseiling down the new acute service block at the Luton and Dunstable hospital.

It’s an exciting time for our maternity services at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital as a number of our services will be moving to the brand new Acute Services Block (ASB).

The Acute Services Block and New Ward Block will be essential in supporting Maternity, Neonatology, Critical Care and Theatre services.

Luton and dunstable hospital has always been close to my heart. Like its trust values THRIVE, i have certainly thrived from working here. I started in 2013 as a junior doctor in maternity and i have grown with the unit both professionally and personally.

I birthed my child and have became a obstetric consultant here.

Luton and Dunstable will always b home away from home. So its heart warming to see the well needed improvements coming to completion.

Through this work, we will be able to improve sustainability and efficiency, maintain and improve quality standards – support patient-centred clinical services, with care delivered in modern, uplifting and fit for purpose environments and much, much more.
