I’d love your help to raise money for a Maternity Delivery Bed which is the priority and an oxygen concentrator.

Hope Community Clinic serves the rural poor in a mountainous area of SW Uganda and opened in 2019.

Mission Rwentobo is a UK charity which raises funds to subsidise the operational costs of the clinic which provides treatment for acute diseases such as malaria and typhoid, minor injuries, childhood immunistations, and antenatal and post natal care.

So far, the clinic has not been able to provide for the safe delivery of babies due to a lack of facilities including infrastructure and equipment. However, there is a great need for full maternity care in this area where maternal and neonatal deaths are amongst the highest in the world and the good news is that 2025 has become the year when this dream will be fulfilled. The infrastructure, including a placenta pit, incinerator, ash pit and waste storage shed is now in place, so the next stage is to fund the maternity equipment. This includes a delivery bed, similar to the one shown above at a cost of about £500.

In 2024, three mothers and four babies in the catchment area of the clinic died during or soon after childbirth.

Brionnie is doing the Tonbridge Walking Marathon to raise funds towards the cost of the maternity equipment for this life-saving project. The Rwentobo community will be truly blessed by any contributions that are made. Thank you.
